Just heard that we have 150,000 children signed up for Michael Rosen Day on November 13.
Wouldn't it be great if, when I'm doing my show, I could see them all....?

Thank you @patrickbarkham.bsky.social for your heartfelt article. We have a similar story despite my son testing positive with the NHS test in 2020. Wishing Milly the very best.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

The emperor’s naked and everyone sees it – but his crowd still cheers.

Truth doesn’t matter to the supporters of Trump or other populists.

So how do you fight that?

This article, by The Bear with artwork by Cold War Steve, lays it out plainly. Read it now
The emperor is naked and they love him more for it
Truth once ended the charade. Now it’s content. The emperor’s still naked – and they’re still applauding

Was anyone else in UK weirded out by the recent Springwatch section on ticks? No mention of tick-borne diseases or sensible ways to avoid getting bitten. Just hilarity at letting a tick escape in the studio and lament about how the crew kept complaining about getting bitten whilst filming on site.

#LymeDiseaseAwarenessMonth is over but for those of us affected by this awful disease it carries on. But to start June I’m posting a picture of my attempt at a tick-aware wild flower garden. Mowed near the paths so no-one has to brush past the vegetation. Loving the crazy tall daisies. #TickAware
Small front garden which used to be a lawn but is now filled with 2 foot high daisies and long grasses. Zoom out of small lawn that is no longer a lawn. Daisies and other tall vegetation has been mowed next to the path so no-one walking past will brush the vegetation.

Once home from an outdoor exposure put your clothes in a hot dryer and shower immediately. Running your clothes in a hot dryer for 10 minutes before you wash them will kill any ticks that may be there.
