Yeah we aren’t getting those. Hence why not being in the market may have been the correct call. I just don’t see any “exciting” option that screams “yeah this is a great fit who will like I get the job done and excite the fanbase”

Totally agree. The defense is just not there with that hire. I’m not super sold that he would have been a home run hit at Baylor. So hopefully this next cycle will produce better candidates.

None of the available candidates outside of really Morris/Golesh were interesting. And you are seeing that from other schools’ perspectives. These top schools with openings are chasing after proven winners at schools on an upward trajectory instead of stealing coaches from lower non-P4 programs.

Exactly. She also has no experience hiring one. If I was her, I wouldn’t want that to fall on me. The AD has a LOT to do rebuilding and reconstructing the program and relationships. I think AD is a more important hire than HC as they impact all sports and fan relationships. Need to get it right.

All great comments. Totally agree. I’ll prob snatch some season tickets while all these fair weather fans and donors exit next year. Luckily, I can make it to most games. But in this age of football, turnarounds happen fast. Look at AZ, BYU, UH, TTU. All have been meh or even horrible recently.

Yupp. It’s a lose lose on her end tbh. Mack really put her in a predicament here and tbh he isn’t getting enough criticism IMHO. Everyone just hyper focuses on her decision, but from her perspective she has to make really tough funding calls for the entire university, not just this single team.
