“There really is a James Bond, you know, but he’s an American ornithologist, not a secret agent,” Fleming explained. “I’d read a book of his, and when I was casting about for a natural-sounding name for my hero, I recalled the book and lifted the author’s name outright.”

All right, just turned in the last strips of my second year on FLASH GORDON. That's 730 installments in the bag -- appearing in a rough average of 1.5 panels per strip, I've drawn Flash about 1,095 times. Still takes me a couple tries to get his hair right. Tomorrow we start on year three ⚡
Flash Gordon and Prince Thun take on a squad of green-skinned Shark Men And old man looks up at a mural of Flash Gordon crossing swords with Ming the Merciless. Flash Gordon frees Edda from her locked helmet, and the mechanic can't help herself from laying a smooch on him. Flash Gordon negotiates with Empress Aura. "Tch. Fine," she sneers, conciliating. "Savior of the Universe..."

He smiles back. "You love it."
