Today, I am making a long overdue post, adding USAID to Courage is Contagious

On March 5, USAID wrote a dissent letter. It read:
A drawing of civil servants from NIH, NSF, EPA, USAID, CDC, FEMA and NASA, symbolizing the organizations that have signaled dissent. USAID DART worker carrying a sack of food.

This is Adelita Grijalva.

She was elected to Congress two weeks ago, officially making her the final vote needed to force the release of the Epstein files.

She has still not been sworn in because Mike Johnson refuses to do so.

I have been trying to get this published as an op-ed, but I am going to post it here since I think it is timely in light of the "consent" extortion events.

Russell Vought continues his attempts to traumatize federal workers -- this time by ignoring a bipartisan law signed by Trump that guarantees federal workers back pay following a shutdown. This is illegal and an intimidation tactic. It is also unpopular. Vought can follow through at his own peril.
OMB deletes reference to law guaranteeing backpay to furloughed feds from shutdown guidance
An Office of Management and Budget FAQ document now states that only excepted employees forced to work without pay are guaranteed backpay at the conclusion of a lapse in appropriations.

The “enemy from within” is Trump. The “violent extremists” are Trump lackeys who have turned ICE into fascistic shock troops. In response to Trump’s brutal, racist, and unconstitutional campaign of terror the country must mobilize collectively.

Russell Vought tells Trump we need MORE COWBELL -- with cowbell meaning everything on the Project 2025 agenda! When Vought tells Trump to do something, he delivers. Who is really running the government?

Made with apologies to Saturday Night Live.

If Trump cared about government services, he would have retained the thousands of federal workers who make our systems work properly.

He wouldn't needlessly force civil servants to do menial tasks that aren't aligned with our mission.

The government is already shut down. By Trump & Russell Vought.

This is something I have never seen in my entire federal service. Blatant politicization of the civil service, blaming a shutdown on Democrats.

If the Trump administration cared about keeping the government open, they wouldn't expend so much effort each day deliberately making it ineffective.
Trump administration uses taxpayer dollars to blame Democrats for government shutdown
Federal employees across the government reported seeing similar messages. Experts say the messages may violate ethics laws meant to keep partisan politics out of day-to-day governing.

I hope it's clear to everyone now that Trump really is going for it - he's trying to become a dictator. I don't know if he'll succeed, but he's working to install himself as an autocrat unaccountable to voters. And he's weaponizing the military against Americans who oppose him as part of that effort

This is absolutely a lie. There is no reason shutdowns trigger layoffs. They never have before. Trump is simply using the shutdown as an excuse to take federal employees hostages and to further gut the government.

Trump: "When you shut it down, you have to do layoffs. So, we'd be laying off a lot of people that are going to be very affected, and they're gonna be Democrats."

The individuals most knowledgeable & most forthright about what Democrats should do in the face of a shutdown are the federal workers living through it. On Monday, 30,000 federal workers told Democratic leaders they’d rather miss out on their paychecks than see Trump further erode federal programs ❤️‍🔥

The idea of a unitary executive -- all power consolidated around a single king-like President -- is terrifying, esp when it's a psychopath like Donald Trump.

SCOTUS is all about it though. They're fully bought & paid for by the Project 2025 folks.

Congress must fight back before it's too late!

Statement on yesterday's SCOTUS shadow docket order.

In summary: the Supreme Court is lawless, the Trump administration is too, Project 2025 connects them both together, and Congress must stand up to stop this lawlessness.

And until that happens US science and medical research are doomed.
The lawless Supreme Court just took away Congress' most fundamental Constitutional power

The federal government regulates things you've never imagined before. It provides lifesaving services to people you never knew existed. It protects resources that you rely on every day without ever giving a moment's thought to.

Or, it used to.
