I'll put it on the list. I've well and truly gone down the post-Soviet Russia rabbit hole! I find the origins of today's Russia, how the corrupt security services and organised criminality so naturally embraced each other amidst the collapse of the USSR, just fascinating.

It needs bold leadership and frozen Russian assets to boost production in Ukraine and the rest of Europe, without arguing over this and that or hand-wringing. This is urgent, step up.

The more I turn today's events over in my head, the more it becomes obvious Trump is just after a distraction. Zelensky needs to keep calm, Europe needs to back him, the Epstein files will be released and this will blow over. Hit some more Russian refineries in the meantime.

This comes from multiple positions of weakness I think. Trump obviously wants a distraction from Epstein. Zelensky has the corruption crisis, and there isn't a strong European leader stepping up. Starmer and Macron look wobbly to say the least.
