Lyme Park today, enjoying free entry for travelling by train. Easy too - 20 minutes walk from Disley to the park entrance and a shuttle bus to the main house. Thanks @nationaltrust.org.uk!

Finally made it to the Stockroom in Stockport. Really impressive space, buzzing with activity - people reading, working, meeting, drinking coffee, kids playing, etc (photo taken carefully to avoid capturing people). Definitely will be back, if nothing else to sample more of the cafe’s cake selection

And ended the week with an architecture tour of metro line M4, housing at Marina Beach, then on Friday tours of Corvin Quarter urban rehabilitation and housing block typologies. Interesting week all round - fingers crossed students enjoyed it as much as I did!

West Coast Mainline essentially doesn’t operate on Sundays any more then. Unless you wait until a couple of days before travel and hope the eventual times are ok for you, and miss the chance of affordable advance fares in the process. Oh well, let’s just have another Heathrow runway instead
