This beard trimmer, purchased in a huge mall in Barcelona, features the Buddha on one side, and Guanyin (Avalokiteśvara) on the other. I can recognize her by her cowl and mini Buddha. Note also the lotuses above and below. Now the question is: Why these images on a beard trimmer? #drsethbuddhclass

Here’s a local example of a (Bodhi) Daruma, and it looks as though the associated agreement has been fulfilled. (The monocular umbrella-like creature to the side is a yōkai.) #drsethbuddhclass

Hey, look at that statue with the pointed crown in the treasure room of an evil alien in the first episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks, season 5 #drsethbuddhclass

I wonder where it might be from, and what it might be doing...

I got this mug at the Smithsonian. Along with Bodhidharma we have four characters, which read 七転八起, or ‘nana karobi ya oki’ in Japanese pronunciation.

The saying “seven fall, eight rise” encourages us get back up when we stumble. Or maybe it means “you fail until you don’t.” #DrSethZenClass

A decade ago, Nike released a Silk Road themed model in Kobe’s line. The colors are intended to represent Eurasian overland experience.
