Interaction is more than just words. The reseach by @drsimonmagnusson.bsky.social and @melisaste.bsky.social on the interactional dynamics of sexual consent illustrates this. Oversimplifications like 'no means no' and 'yes means yes' overlook the complex realities involved in negotiating consent.

Slogans like “yes means yes” and “no means no” miss how refusals really work.
Voice, body & touch go beyond the binary. Immobility, though, is recognised differently depending on gender, power & sexual scripts (Kevin Costner when Whitney Houston’s sister kisses him 😶).
