And to disconnect students from their peers. You know who cannot come together and rise up against our overlords? People who don't know how to talk to one another

Slowly starve the universities. Why is UNL in financial trouble? IDK because the state refuses to fund it and we had tuition freezes and then insufficient increases during a time when the cost of everything is skyrocketing?

Unsurprising that they targeted interim presidents. I'm pretty sure my department was targeted because have an interim chair

I'm glad I was able to talk to a friend that went through this the day they told us. Knowing what to expect helped. Even if what to expect was anxiety and chaos. But damn, this is the most maddening and depressing thing I've ever dealt with

Program closures hurt Nebraskans!

Thank you colleagues in community and regional planning for your slogan work!

I haven't read your piece but I'm curious if you spoke to any rural scholars or people in rural communities?

Same. I bought like half a week's worth of groceries the other day and it was like $50 more than I thought it should be.

I do wonder when media outlets will get interested in ballooning everyday costs. My family's grocery bill has exploded over the past six months and - unlike when a Democrat is president - this is a non-story.

99, 94, 94. Best reviews I've ever gotten in a grant proposal. Still didn't get it.

If I still have a job and we still have a functional government, it would be great to resubmit it 😂

"Ultimately, just because you can calculate a z-value doesn’t ensure that it has meaning in the context of the data."

Do not mess around with the statisticians 🤷🏻‍♀️

And some provide teachers with pre-recorded read alouds, so children don't even see an adult reading 🤷🏻‍♀️

Teachers choosing books isn't everyone doing their own thing when teachers choose together and write curriculum together. That skill is not just one for text book writers. There's plenty of room between chaos and scripted programs
drszuckerman.bsky.social
But there's not actually a reason teachers cannot choose their own books. Nothing about SOR requires deskilling teachers
drszuckerman.bsky.social
That's exactly why she wanted to do it, to build background knowledge and motivation to read by choosing high interest books. But when SOR becomes only high quality instructional materials, which can only be prepackaged programs... Then yeah

I definitely quibble with number 2.
