I get what you mean but I think there’s still some interesting thinking to be about the use of photographs. Also, as you know my interest isn’t so much the history of archaeology per se but how we can use archaeological archives for broader social histories and Jericho definitely has a lot…

.. I‘ve got a feeling there is another project in Jericho working with refugee families to record oral heritage of the archaeological digs too but I can’t remember details and maybe it’s an optimistic over-imagining on my part. Happy to be filled in on that one.

… think about Jericho because it’s super interesting but it’s somewhere near the back of a long line of projects that are wilting in the teaching-imposed drought. I’m very glad someone else is working on it because there are a lot of interesting things to say about it and research to be done...

And yes, I know that using the language of indigeneity and invas species etc is deeply problematic in a climate where these discourses are used about human beings racist fuckwits. But also many species are getting hammered by climate change and habitat destruction and biodiversity needs help
