....it doesn't serve our democracy which turns out to have been much more fragile and delicate a construct than we maybe gave it credit for. The failure of the TVNZ + RNZ merger was one of the major failures of the last govt. Not sure how to create a National discourse right now.

Couldn't agree more. Our media struggle to present anything as fact and take the 'safest' option. But, I suspect that approach also generates more clicks/engagement which is incredibly problematic. It's easy to be angry at a headline and rage click an article which is tiptoeing...

Hahahahaha!!!!! Just finishing breakfast before heading to our campaign. My players have had some funny rows (but were also playing Forbidden Lands which is so much easier to GM)

There is so much going on in that whole saga that should be under wraps. The fact that Dame Julie Christie, one of the most godawful people in TV, had access to the cops with her crew is a horrendous thought. Those kids have had life-changing trauma. No need for it to be displayed publicly.

I've been using an app used by an ancient sailor friend. He uses it when ocean sailing but it's been way more accurate than the forecasts and I can drop a pin on my small village and localise the result. It's called PredictWind.

Same here - managed to drive back from the Hokianga today but had no idea of the horror happening on the East Coast. Ghastly.
