I have spent the last two days with an awesome Rochester educator group drafting #AI guidance for our teachers and students. Two powerful statements we discussed: AI isn't going anywhere-we can't ignore it. Our students are already using AI; we seek to guide them, not ban it. #edusky

Breakout Boxes: An oldie but a goodie. It was fun to introduce a new group of students to the magic. They were a little thrown off by all the math they had to do in math class. 😂 "I thought this would be a break from math..." #edusky

I got to team up with my best pal (and @sturmdon.bsky.social) to run the @ideaillinois.bsky.social game table at a #STEM fair in the neighboring town! It was fun to play with the students, but it was even better to see my little girl acting all grown up with as she ran the games! 💕

I got to watch our art teacher teach a new lesson today, AND she let me demonstrate my learning alongside the students. I'm creating a bowl using the pattern from my signature Dunks. I learned so much. Seriously. Instructional coaching is the best job ever, guys. #edusky

Another day in Spanish with the Spanish 3 teacher! The whole class spoke in Spanish for the entire period. What a way to start my morning. I was firing synapses I didn't know I still had! My goal is to see every teacher in action this quarter. It's made me so proud to work here! #edusky

Watching Chris try KialoEdu. He's got 100 percent engagement. I'm watching a student who struggles many days to have motivation to engage at all complete MORE than the assigned number of claims/responses. This is a discussion game changer if you haven't used it. #ideacon #edusky

La Profesora de Español invited me in to watch her implement something she learned at a conference. I loved the IR time for Spanish books, the lesson was awesome, and she was able to teach ME how to write a paragraph in Spanish (with some errors-don't judge). It was awesome! #edusky

The days were long and the sleeps were SHORT, but I had a blast as incoming president at #IDEACon #IDEACon2025 This crew makes me smile. We may be silly and we may go on a lot of side journeys, but we make it happen too!! My cup runneth over from all the positive vibes this week.
