Another factor is that even before AI made it worse, Google search already kinda sucked, and would regularly promote scam/third party cites ahead of the thing you were specifically looking for, so finding accurate product info was already a chore.

I’d love to claim my opposition to that stuff all comes from a principled place, but he’s right - it’s almost as offensive how boring and unoriginal all that material is at this point.

Agreed, but just as proof of concept I would have expected it to be able to, like, compile a mileage report. It can’t, and even functions they’re actively promoting, like automated meeting notes, don’t work very well.

I try to keep an open mind and not sound like a crank, but its inability to automate the most basic, redundant tasks from my email job, when we had an IT team assembled to make it happen, was eye-opening.

It’s wild how many big, expensive ad buys like this the Dems just throw down the toilet. Can’t believe they still haven’t found some gen Z staffers normal enough to point out the ones that won’t attract half as many voters as they’ll alienate on your side.

There was lots of toxic BS about the whole “sellout” thing in the 90s/00’s, and I get why it’s a thing of the past, but there’s still something jarring about how open some social media celebs are about the transactional nature of what‘a replaced it.

Ok, fair. He’s definitely got a gift for that, I’m probably just being overly nostalgic for a time when “selling out” was still a thing.

Gen Z/Alpha/whatever’s inability to identify charisma (or lack thereof) needs to be studied. Dude talks to/smiles at a camera like a robot trying to convince you he’s human. The fact that he’s made it this big should be seen as an indictment of all of pop culture.

There’s a portion of rank and file Dems that thinks Trump’s entire appeal comes from his celebrity, and that it can be replicated by anyone comparably famous. They genuinely think they could fix everything by filling the senate with celebs like Frankin and get Oprah to run for POTUS.

It’s telling how these “cop exodus” situations are always so heavily publicized, when any competent department actually concerned with limiting violent crime would do everything they could to downplay this kind of story.
