For the first time in history, DSA has 80,000 members in good standing! Tens of thousands of new members have joined the last year alone. In the face of rising fascism, a US-backed genocide, and an escalating climate crisis, socialism is the only path forward. 1/3

At the 2025 convention, we agreed to deprioritize Twitter. How much - if at all - we will use that platform will be determined by our membership. In the meantime, help our Bsky account get to 2k followers!

Here's NWA DSA's recap of the convention this year and what our chapter supported that passed!
2025 Nation Convention Recap The 2025 DSA National Convention took place in Chicago, August 8-10th. NWA DSA sent two members to represent our chapter and participate in the democratic process.

The results of the convention solidified our commitment to strengthening ties to the labor movement, democratizing DSA at the national level, reaffirming solidarity with Palestine, and unifying behind a more cohesive antifascist strategy.

While the final votes did not always align with our chapter’s goals, there were many wins. The convention demonstrated that positive democratic change in an organization with many, sometimes disparate positions is possible. Some resolutions and bylaws changes that NWA DSA supported at the convention:

R02 - No AI Images!
DSA will no longer be using generative AI to produce imagery for any DSA purposes.

R05 - Fight Fascism, Build Socialism
Turns our ad hoc Trump response into a focused national campaign, with resources and a clear mission needed to fight the right. R26 - Fight Fascist State Repression & ICE
Establishes a national 'Abolish ICE' campaign, local abolitionist organizing, and strengthening organizational security.

R30 & R30-A01 - Fighting Back in the Class War: Preparing for May Day 2028
Lays out a political vision and tasks for DSA to orient around in the leadup to May Day 2028.

R36 - A Unified Democratic Socialist Strategy for Palestine Solidarity
Cohesive DSA strategy for strengthening solidarity with the Palestinian people while building a stronger organization and a stronger movement.

Tell City Council “NO” to landlords on the Renters’ Committee in Fayetteville!

A script you can use to preferably call (or email/message) your city reps will be replied below this post.

Find your city reps here: www.fayetteville-ar.gov/4052/My-Faye...
Fayetteville Renter’s Committee Update
8-5-25

Tell City Council “NO” to landlords on the Renters’ Committee As you may know, the Renters Committee ordinance (formerly the Renters Council) was tabled with some additional amendments on Tuesday at Fayetteville city council. One of the amendments they want to pass is to reserve 2 of the 9 seats on the committee for landlords.

This is a significant conflict of interest for a functioning Renters Committee!

Landlords already have a lot of effective power and connections with the City Council and the State, and much more power in the dynamic between themselves and renters/tenants.

We propose that landlords should instead be a part of public feedback to the committee. We encourage city council members who wish to include landlord voices to support this amendment.

They should NOT be in those seat positions over renters and other housing-insecure representation. Call (preferred) or Email Your Council Member to voice your concern

In addition, they have all of the power in the relationship between landlords and tenants. Adding them to the Renter’s Committee goes too far. Say “No” to this proposed amendment.

Hi, my name is [name] from [ward].
I’d like to voice my concern as a constituent about the proposed amendment to add landlords to the proposed Renter’s Committee ordinance. As we both know, landlords already have a direct line to City Council members, as well as a very loud voice in the state house.
