I've got a stash of 13 used copies of Ottman, Music for Sight Singing 6th edition [2004] that I was hoarding for a class. If you are working with a small group and want to give them free books hit me up, I will mail it to you in exchange for postage.

I just added a new track to "Project Jam," a collection of tracks that emphasize tonic for easy improvisation in various keys. Students have not been particularly excited about this page so I just work on it passively, augmenting it when I stumble across something.

For my sins I am now listening to RHCP's "Sir Psycho Sexy" and taking notes. There's no way I can play the main part of the song in class but the winding progression at the end is kind of interesting, lots of chromatic mediants and tritones. Student picked it.

All right, they lifted the lockdown. Apparently the cops were called into a dorm and found nothing.

Sigh. There are notifications of a "possible person with gun" at Manhattan College tonight. Lockdown has been in place for about an hour. Hope it's nothing.
