That's true, of course. But if a friend turns up on my doorstep I might well invite him to come "ben the house", meaning come into the warmth inside.

What I particularly liked was the fact that the Prof spoke throughout (very well, I thought) without any interruptions from the interviewer. Just like our own dear BBC, really...
