Let me be clear. The only reason peaceful protests have accomplished anything in the US is because there were corresponding violent protests. The power structure wanted to undermine and diffuse the latter by working with the former. The former didn’t insist on needed structural change.

To be clear, I’m an American and value property rights above all. I would never condone gangs of masked taggers spray painting parked Teslas with Nazi symbols or nonsense words like “swasticar.” That would be anarchy. That would be deplorable.

I’m not appalled by the shooting of a health insurance CEO. It was, IMO, inevitable. I’m appalled by the pearl-clutching by MSM dolts over peoples’ reactions. These talking heads indicated where their sympathies lie and should be regarded accordingly.

I’m not sure if I’m going off the deep end but, recently, I can help but think of the play/movie Cabaret. A society where the well-off numbed themselves with entertainment, drugs and alcohol rather than acknowledging the escalating horrors around them. Am I off the mark re American society?

I’m struggling with who should be in my social circle. Without going into a lot of detail, I have people who are in my circle who are “woke” when it comes to identity politics and environmental issues but they express scorn for the homeless, the working class and unions. They lack compassion.

I’m seeing commercials for the game “Monopoly” on television. They capture the cruelty and amorality of capitalism.
