historical SIOP REV Reports and analysis. It was interesting but in the end it was pointless, so I quit doing that and focused instead on fixing certain issues with the OPLAN that I could actually make less stupid. Whatever. I thought this article was wanking nonsense. (2/2).

Personally, I don't think that it's possible for *anybody* to do a historical analysis of the SIOP and the internal discussions that took place within the JSTPS. I had essentially unlimited access but a limited amount of time to spend lazy afternoons in the USSTRATCOM library reading all the (1/?)

Yes, that's what I was getting at. We learn through pain because we have to. Some of those statistics are particularly brutal for certain aircraft.

On the one hand, I look at this and see an easy target.
On the other hand, I feel a bit sad for the so many young Chinese naval aviators who are going do die (just like a lot US naval aviators did) learning the art of carrier operations. The path to excellence is paved with blood and fire.
