Bye Connor Kenway, Hello Edward Kenway!

Perhaps no other moment in Assassin's Creed 3 encapsulates how adrift the narrative feels like when Connor learns Washington is the one ordering the attacks on his people, storms out in a rage to warn them, then promptly fights alongside the "patriots" at Monmouth as if nothing happened.

Me: I'm going to pace myself and avoid collecting every pointless icon in AC games so I don't burn out too soon in my first series re-run.

Also me looking at a nearly cleared-out Boston and Frontier AC3 map:

No wonder Europe is freaking out. If you think Trump's foreign policy can't get any worse, the new NSS now shies away from "interventionist approaches" and hostility towards China in favor of "mutually advantageous economic relationships". MADNESS!

Maybe Kaja Kallas freedom speeches will save them
December 9, 2025 at 3:09 AM
Does the average European have any idea how hysterical it sounds to the rest of us the notion that U.S foreign Policy not giving one shit about democracy abroad is somehow a new and terrifying new development?

To this day, Assassin's Creed "stick to everything you touch" controls are very frustrating. A solution to this issue would automatically improve the games dramatically. In AC2 you held "A" alongside RT to sprint, climb and jump bigger stuff, but still glued to everything regardless. Soon "A" was

I really should have watched Dragon Ball earlier, before I was a jaded old man. Good grief, There's only so much stupid a grown man can take.

You're saying some people might have had enough of playing the same thing in a different-ish skin every year for 16 years? Surely that's crazy talk!

Some might say this is "too red".
And that's okay.
Being wrong isn't a crime.

What's so terrible about the AC3 remaster that it got overwhelmingly negative steam reviews? Environments look great and the gameplay adjustments are a real improvement. They screwed up the faces, sure, but it's not like they're hideous or more significant than everything else.

Piccolo: this damn Vegeta is a combat genius.

Vegeta, minutes later: loses his temper and throws a giant energy ball to flush out an Android that... absorbs energy balls.

I thought Goku was a good guy, but he's also a psychopath who doesn't mind gambling with the lives of everyone around him, the very existence of the universe and chooses to cause the countless deaths by sparing the worst villains just so he can feel the thrill of fighting them again.

I don't know why Goku trains so much and struggles so much against more powerful foes, when apparently all he has to do to become more powerful than a god is ask a friend to hurt him until he's almost dead, eat a seed to heal, rinse and repeat.

Guys, help me understand DB continuity. Z ends with a 10-year jump into the future that is technically the canon endpoint of the story. GT is a "what if" scenario after that endpoint. Super happens during that 10-year jump, and Daima follows the events of GT. Did I get it right?

Goku's innocence and stupidity was endearing as a child, as a grown man with a child it's just annoying.
Yes, it's the year of our lord 2025 and I'm watching Dragon Ball for the first time.

You'd think at some point martial arts fans in the Dragon Bal world would realize that watching up close battles between superhuman people that routinely trade energy blasts powerful enough to erase city blocks is a really bad idea, but nope.

Who'd have thunk assassin's Creed climbing was actually inspired by Dragon Ball 🤯🤯

This google translation looks a bit weird, but you get the idea. I don't know how much of that is true or truly widespread, but god I hope it is.

Starting AC3 remastered on PC after playing Ezio collection on PS5 is like suddenly turning on turbo mode. As soon as I started moving I was startled by how fast everything was. Not that I'm complaining.

Finished Revelations! It actually revealed more than I remembered. It was cool going through the trilogy, Ezio is a legend, and after this memory refresh the overall narrative is making a lot more sense in my head, I'd probably forgotten more than I remembered.
I'd love if they developed

Looking good!
Given the long intervals I often go between AssCreed games, I'd never truly appreciated just how much the controls and gameplay improved since the Ezio days. They always had acceptable controls for the time (starting with Ezio), but playing them after Mirage is night and day.

Assassins: we work in the dark to save the light.
Random peasants: hey, you're the one fighting the Borgia!
Yusuf in Constantinople: hey, you're Ezio! Look, The whole city stirs to welcome you!

Seriously, we really suck at working in the dark.
