Had the Democrats not been distracted by other issues like, y'know, Biden, we could have been hammering away for at least a year pointing out that the economy was objectively going strong, with unemployment at historic lows, and inflation of only around 3%.

Well, there was a helluva surge of inflation from roughly mid 2021 to mid 2023. It was an international phenomenon, and as I recall the U.S. rode it out better than any other developed economy, but that left a lingering impression that the economy was doing badly.

We can certainly stay out of power indefinitely while standing up for every detail of every last principle. That'll show 'em. And we won't have to take responsibility for anything that happens at a national level

Well, would you rather dig in to defend every last progressive dream, while living under a fascist dictatorship, or compromise on the issues that rile up swing voters, while living under an imperfect liberal democracy? .

What basis do you have for saying that working dogs don't want to work? What exactly have they said to you? What do you think working dogs would rather be doing? If you want to say "being dogs" then what does that consist of?

They were born that way because they were bred that way, as with all working breeds. The dogs that do the job best are bred together, while the dogs that aren't interested in the work go to a farm upstate. You may not think pulling a sled looks like fun, but working dogs are living their best lives.

What exactly did the dogs say to you? They've told me that they really, really want pull sleds. They were literally born to pull sleds. Have you ever tried to "walk" a husky? You should really try it sometime; see whether you can hold them back.
