2 things I've noticed in Portland (where we are having a similar convo): 1)Proponents of segregating children by test scores do not want to talk about demographic disparities; and 2) they co-opt disability rights language, claiming (w/o evidence) that gifted children have uniquely high support needs

Jane Goodall came to our school when I was a kid. That whole week beforehand, all the teachers and faculty were freaking out and repeatedly telling us we had to be on our BEST behavior. This wasn’t some assembly about the importance of recycling, this was THE JANE GOODALL, who none of us knew.

I had an advice nurse tell me this when my daughter had Covid a few yrs ago. She said let her body fight the infection, but also go to the ER just in case b/c she was feeling dizzy. We went to the ER, where the Dr. gave her Tylenol. A few weeks later we got a bill for $600 🫠

At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists. I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Pro-vaccine arguments focus on saving lives (which I get) but I sometimes feel like we skip over the part where they protect kids from uncomfortable/scary illnesses. Even a mild flu can be very disruptive for a family.

Today is my 22nd wedding anniversary and our kids are finally old enough that we don't need a sitter to go out to dinner, so after narrowing down to a few restaurants in our neighborhood we decided to order in and watch TV 💕
