The origin of Memorial Day trace back to 1865 when freed slaves started a tradition to honor fallen Union soldiers and to celebrate emancipation and commemorate those who died for that cause. #MemorialDay2025

The NBA is now in unprecedented territory.

With the Nuggets and Celtics eliminated, the NBA will crown its 7th different champion over seven seasons. It's never been done before.

Wrote about the great age of parity @theathletic.bsky.social before this season began:

The NBA has entered a new era of parity. How did we get here and what’s next?
Last year, the Boston Celtics became the sixth different team to win a championship in the past six seasons. Is the era of parity upon us?

It’s time for Congress to reign in the Mad King. These tariffs haven’t even hit for real and the world is off the rails.

Politically, it’s helpful to Dems, but this is why I’m not a good politician b/c I care too deeply about the harm on all people, even on those that hate my very existence.

I’m a former Blackhawk pilot and am currently in DC for events. I heard the UH-60 flyby while eating a late dinner at the Wharf. I watched the emergency reponse. It’s unspeakably tragic what happened in very complex airspace at night. I won’t offer my opinion until we know more. People died.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

Bravo to Sen. Alsobrooks for her question.

“We should not be giving Black people the same vaccine schedule as Whites because their immune system is better than ours.” — RFK Jr

This is the deadlier version of the racist myth that Black people feel less pain, leading to denied pain meds.

Obama was right. The floodgates opened to special interest groups, silencing the people.

15 years ago, politics was fundamentally changed for the worse after SCOTUS opened the door for corrupt politicians and rich oligarchy's to advance their own agenda.

I love this so much!

At the inauguration, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wore a distinctive collar adorned with cowrie shells, which are believed to offer protection from evil in African traditions.

This choice mirrors the late Justice Ginsburg’s practice of using collars to convey a message.

Jeffries: It's been interesting to me that for decades the Republican party has lectured America about fiscal responsibility, about the debt and the deficit. It's always been phony. This bill proves it.
