I do realize that the Republican Party only appeals to these values as lip service (they don't really care about the rights of all, political equality, or equality under the law), but that's the lie they tell. They just only intend it for themselves.

Again, for those who can't keep up: capitalism is oppression. The political Left is anti-capitalist. If you're a capitalist, you are not a Leftist (this included "Social Democrats").

Supporting genocidal, apartheid ethnostates isn't cancel culture? Right now, a century -long settler-colonial land grab and ethnic cleansing is taking place with US aid. Palestinians are certainly being "cancelled".

Mass incarceration isn't cancelling? Boycotting business and people who you don't like isn't cancelling? Imposing legal discrimination against entire groups isn't cancelling? White Supremacy, patriarchy, and cisheteronormativity aren't "cancel culture"? It's just sticking up for marginalized groups?

For those who failed Civics class and never bothered to look outside of their own borders: Liberalism is the school of thought that led to the creation of the USA and fully describes the Republican party AND Democratic Party.

Also, there is no such thing as "cancel culture". That's a Right Wing talking point condemning the notion of accountability and consequences. Also, the entire conservative agenda is based on "canceling" everybody and everything they don't like. The Dems don't run campaigns trying to take away rights

Please reread what I wrote. I am not staying from a USAnian perspective, I'm referencing the proper technical terminology that the rest of the world understands. Republicans AND Democrats are BOTH Liberals. The entire Democratic Party is Center Right. Read their Party Platform.
