Donald Trump has convinced people that their lack of knowledge, education, training, etc... are unnecessary to step into upper echelon positions, so when that ultimately bites them in the ass, take a comfy seat, pour yourself a double and sit back and enjoy the show.

You should not underestimate the commitment & intelligence of our armed forces. People tend to take the oath seriously. Military MAGA's really aren't in the upper echelons or SF's as you may think. ...But don't expect a public disclosure or explanation for any strategic plans.

I must concur with Mr. Simon & add...try leaving your couch, your backyard, travel further than the next county. This generalization of an entire generation smacks of ignorance and a lack of exposure to the varying areas of this country, ntm, the rest of the world. It's hard to take you seriously.

While you sit on your ass enjoying many of the benefits of what "Boomers" fought for..the 1st gen. to fight the political status quo, protest a war, push equality for women,etc.. You're no better than the delusional Trad Wives on SM, oblivious to the limitations prior to the movements of the 60's.

I appreciate this information. I admire Gov Pritzker's refusal to capitulate and his handling of the ICE situation in Chicago (a city I love) that we also are experiencing in Portland. I want to like him, but am wary of politicians with that amount of wealth.

Yes. I'm old enough to remember when the "homeless" were predominantly Vietnam vets who mostly due to trauma & PTSD, unable to adapt to conventional living situations. If you lived/worked dntn you knew them all by name. Even addicts could get an apt( not a great one & not in the best parts of town.)

My niece lives in Charleston, SC. They have what amounts to a sheriff's posse of local men who are permitted to "patrol" city limits& round up people. They put them in their pick-ups, drive them to the bus depot and purchase them tickets to wherever. It's criminal. ...and that's the South.

You're right. We could start by not placing all homeless folks under 1 umbrella & assess, then address various reasons people are on the street & provide living situations designed to help their specific needs. Portland has a very kind mayor & resources, but we still come up short. It's just 💔💔💔

The most ridiculous part is that the vast majority of trans athletes are sub par or mediocre players. They participate bc they enjoy the camaraderie and acceptance of their teammates. That little Riley Gaines b*tch is now making a living off of her trauma over coming in 5th to a trans athlete.

Newsom is far from a billionaire. His net worth is approx 30 mil. I live in 2 cities with serious homeless issues & both now have camping bans in the dntn areas. Newsom released 3.3 bil in CA to expand shelters. Portland has many resources, but still has approx 7500 folks on the street. It's complex

My oldest daughter is a lesbian so I'm sensitive to the treatment of trans athletes. There are like 7 trans athletes in all of college sports which to me, makes it a non issue. The 2 videos of h.s. athletes (MA & NC) being injured by trans players got some people up in arms.

Agree. I have admiration for Pritzker and how he's governed IL, but his wealth is an issue for me. Unless Congress passes some reforms in re to investments/campaign finance/special interest, etc... it would give me pause.

Pete is very intelligent and extremely knowledgeable. He also talks a great game to the public and then goes and hangs out with his billionaire buddies. I'll never get behind another person who has or has ties to people with that kind of wealth. It's the reason I can't support Pritzker for the WH.
