I think it depends on their type of malevolence. Blunt names for brutal characters like Thrug or Grum. S names are particularly evil, like Severin. Then there's being over dramatic with an honorific, Bailor the Brutal.

Or, you could name them Carl

Big fat gelatinous blob. Enormous, slow, swallows people and resistant to most things. Promotes lateral thinking to hurt / help trapped team mates and an homage to the DND of yore
