Why do #Irish journalists (& their editors) so often fail to realise that an "O apostrophe" surname in English has that apostrophe replaced with the síneadh fada as #Gaeilge, and that it's not accompanied by it? It's not a complicated thing to double-check before publishing!! #Spéirghorm #Ireland

Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

There's few simple pleasures with social media anymore. Everybody on Spéirghorm always has to be a socio-political analyst & must have a comment for each & every news headline, every day. Not only all Irish headlines, but also all 🇺🇸 ones as well! The seriousness of it all, constantly, is grating.

To "fix" something which isn't actually an issue for any sane, normal person. It's only an "issue" because of the tech giants / AI companies, pushing narratives that AI is the solution to everything & making the non-issue of people not using it everywhere, for everything, a "problem". WOW! The European Parliament just voted to BAN the words 'burger' and 'sausage' when used in sustainable plant-based alternatives. HUGE win for the meat and dairy lobby in the EU, and lots more confusion for consumers if this goes through. Insane!
