I'd like to go back in time to when we were losing to the Revs and drawing Toronto and the fans were saying we might miss the playoffs and offer them this outcome.

Four games is a small sample size, but we turned a corner when Gazdag was benched. It wasn't just him under-performing, he was dragging the team down. The flow was immediately better.

Right, but here it's being deployed in service of what is ostensibly a preview of game three of a playoff series.
He spends a over a third of his text constructing an absurd straw man argument ("this version of the Crew might be the best team MLS has ever seen") then knocking it down.

It's not a great number objectively, but comparing them to a cup winner and a team considered among the best in league history is silly.

This is in no small part because the true core beliefs of someone like Cuomo are even worse.

People have short attention spans.A month ago all the talk was how we were going to get crushed at Chicago in the play in game.
We're playing with house money.

Runner-up for CCC and the shield is pretty good, and throw in a leagues cup win if you care about that.
Is it possible you need to lower your expectations?

You could squint your eyes and make the case that Gazdag was overrated. But no one anywhere saw this level of regression.

Issa had made a lot of bad choices, but there had been some bad luck. Gazdag getting the yips and Ali getting injured are not his fault. The failure to address the Morris departure killed us, and that is his fault. Dumping the whole bench and not reloading is his fault.

It's a little bit of both. The timing of the Cucho sale was bad, but the reaction made it worse. He know it was coming and should have been better prepared. But the narrative that issa is to blame for Gazdag is ridiculous. Everyone thought we needed to act fast and thought it was a good pickup.

Book my ticket, too. "Whoever beats Messi" is my second favorite team and I DGAF about what KFC does when we're not playing them.
