More of a challenge in the built-up Southeast, but expanding upstream, catchment-wide wetland habitat can help slow the flow down to flash-points reducing flood risk. Here, old damp meadow is being returned to reedbeds by National Trust on the Tamar, providing some protection to Plymouth downstream.
