Yes, broccoli has long been an enemy of mine as well. As a child my mother tried to get me to eat it by calling broccoli “little trees” - but I don’t eat trees, I climb them and then subsequently fall out of them!

Yes, I do, but only once has an octopus attacked me under a car - and honestly that one was my fault for bringing it.

I guess what I would change would be to make them cars on land. I don’t care for boats, I always seem to end up wet and underneath them, gasping for air while an octopus puts all eight of its hands in eight entirely uncomfortable and inappropriate places!

It would have to be “sword” because of course the pen is mightier than the sword. And pencils are like pens. So I think sword works best. Or actually, erase that, let’s go with sheath, because that’s what holds the sword. Yes, “sheath” is my answer for a word associated with pencil. Case closed.
