An hour at Dundee Law this morning hinted that an earlier start might've been worthwhile with steady movement over - mostly Meadow Pipits, but also Siskins, Skylarks, Pied Wagtails, Chaffinches etc. Pics below - Sparrowhawk, Meadow Pipit, Kestrel and Bullfinch.

2 weeks ago today (16/9), I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time to see a Clouded Yellow butterfly - my 1st ever. Unfortunately I got 0 photos. Today I had an unexpected 2nd chance, albeit very brief, to get photos of this one at Broughty Ferry esplanade dunes. #UKwildlife

Nice to know they are showing up elsewhere locally. They haven’t seemed to be in any great hurry to move on - was a similar story last year at Clatto, lingered for around a week.

Got my 20th species of butterfly within Dundee this year (& ever) at Riverside Nature Park this afternoon, when a Clouded Yellow flew past as I chatted with Colin the Council Ranger & his colleague doing a bee survey. No photos as it wouldn't settle, but a big surprise 'lifer'.
