DFS Group, which operates the #Fondaco dei Tedeschi department store in a Venetian palazzo, says the Fondaco will close in 2025. That's a shame, because the Fondaco's roof terrace offers free aerial views of the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge in #Venice.

Venice, Italy can be crowded, but the monthly number of visitors from November to March is less than half the monthly count from May to September. Moral: Come to #Venice during the cooler months, and you won't have to get up close and personal with the masses.
