Last week my friend told me I didn’t look well and I basically said what that’s crazy I’m fine but upon reflection, working on surgeries for 12 hours straight fueled only by protein bars and Red Bulls is probably Not Peak Health

4th day of the power being out, estimated 4 more days to go. Taking out the dog is exhausting bc each day brings down new power lines to avoid. Constantly scooping water to keep the fish alive. Nights are noisy bc the trains need to constantly blare their horns bc the road crossings aren’t powered

Yesterday Madison pass away in my arms. I was so lucky to get to share 18 years with this little guy, who had a knack for getting into trouble and spent every day convinced it was the greatest day ever. I’ll miss him so much.

Kept half expecting to come back to America and not have my job anymore but by some freak occurrence I have come back and both still have funding AND avoided the layoffs

I am so, SO spoiled to be able to walk from my home down to a local cafe who’s owner lights up when she sees me and we catch up on how life is. I’m so lucky to get to chit chat with a neighbourhood that has been so welcoming to me and who fawn over my dog’s little rainbow bow tie, who hope to see me
