Today, the DCE was joined by Netherlands Ambassador Peter van der Vliet in Seoul’s Nowon District.

Following a memorandum of understanding signed earlier this year, they met—and cycled—with Mayor Lee Jae-myung, and discussed their aspirations to become South Korea’s most bike-friendly municipality.

How do you anticipate extra cycle traffic in your city?

In Eindhoven, that means setting up pop-up cycle parking around the city. This example, near the Steentjeskerk, was set up in collaboration with STREET-STUFF! (#DCEnetwork) on the Sunday of a big football match.

Earlier this week, the Dutch Cycling Embassy met with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vilnius. Skadi Tirpak also joined a cycling tour highlighting Vilnius’ recent progress in growing its cycling culture, in the lead-up to the Urban Mobility Days conference.

Today, the DCE was in Siheung, South Korea for a special meeting with the City Council and Urban Environment Committee.

Following up from their visit to Utrecht earlier this month, it included a presentation about their cycling policies, and an exchange of views on promoting bicycle transportation.

Today, the DCE’s Chris Bruntlett keynoted a symposium in Kunshan—“Pedaling Forward: The Future of Cycling in China and the World”.

With contributions from Dutch and Chinese experts, and a broad cross-section of regional stakeholders, the event explored collaborative ways to promote cycling culture.

This morning, the Dutch Cycling Embassy was invited to join the flock of students cycling to Matsuyama Higashi High School in Japan's Ehime Prefecture.

It was a joy to see the huge number of teenagers riding together, in a city where nearly 90% of secondary school students travel by bike every day.

Building on the Netherlands Pavilion theme of “Common Ground”, yesterday we co-hosted a day of cycling-themed activities at the Osaka World Expo.

Through a series of conversations with Japanese counterparts, we celebrated two leading cycling nations and explored areas of learning and collaboration.
