Ummm. Isn't Congress in charge of actually running the government? That's why the funding comes from THERE, not the White House. Imagine telling you boss that you don't know what's going on with your core responsibilities? How long would that last in the real world?

Christofo was an Italian using Spanish boats, only landed on islands and isn't who the hemisphere is named after; meanwhile "White European" Lief Erikson beat him here by 500 years AND settled North America (temporarily)!

Since voter suppression has never stopped happening in America, and gerrymandering is de rigueur in states with black populations, you can rightly argue they've never been a democracy, since all your citizens have to be able to vote for you to legitimately call yourself one.

Actually Columbus went to Puerto Rico on November 19, 1493, during his second voyage. He landed on the island and named it "San Juan Bautista" in honor of Saint John the Baptist. He only stayed for a short time before continuing his journey to Hispaniola.
Puerto Rican are American citizens.

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.
