AOC: Donald Trump and Stephen Miller want you to believe that this is who we are as a country. And we are here to say that it is not. We are a country that has fought and defeated the confederacy. That has defeated a history of civil rights violations, of secret police, of fascism.
AOC: I want to remind you where the real crime is. It's in the oligarchs taking $170 billion of our money from health care and food assistance and public programs and taking that and funneling it into a secret police program.

The president of Ukraine in a town that the president of Russia claims Russia occupies. Ukrainians can defend themselves if they are helped by their allies. We have a simple job here — help courageous people who are defending themselves in horrible circumstances. Continuous good work by Phil OBrien
Just sent out my free weekend update. Was quite a week in the land war, started with great doom for Ukraine and ended with the Ukrainians pushing the Russians away from Kupyansk and advancing in a week twice as much as the Russians advanced in 4 months. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

Exactly the sort of tyrannical behavior that the Constitution was written to prevent. See the Fourth Amendment in particular.

A mass shooting at my alma mater Brown University hit hard, proving no community is safe from senseless violence in a land with more guns than people

Trump added insult to injury by claiming there is "nothing you can do." We can do a lot about guns

Quick guide to interpreting US foreign policy propaganda: if the word “deal” was used, some American made some money, and the war is still going on.
An estimated 200,000 people have fled fighting in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo just days after Trump hailed a “historic” peace deal to end the conflict.

Putin sits in Moscow claiming that his armies have taken a town that the Ukrainian president is personally visiting. There are cowardly tyrants and there are courageous elected leaders and it is good to know the difference.
Putin said Russia had taken Kupiansk weeks ago.

Today, Zelenskyy visited Ukrainian troops there.

A denial of death, post-truth, and "foul is fair" all speak to a refusal to acknowledge boundaries. For Trump and Putin, there is no boundary between real and unreal, good and evil, life and death. In the absence of any boundary, nothing means anything, and we face a nihilist abyss.
