The 80s sucked. It was also a insiprational time. So many incredible people that knew their time was limited so they lived their boldest lives while they could.

Learning the details of the helicopter crash in the Hudson reminded me of that.

Amazing how we trusted our lives that these rickity operations. Guess part of the fun was surviving. So much of growing up in the 70s was like that.

I hear you. The Act Up street actions in the 80s, early 90s felt pretty effective though. The goal with those, in a large part, was raising public awareness to how many people were dying with how little the issue being talked about.

I recently pulled out my act up tshirt collection from the 80s to wear again. This time in history feels familiar, only much worse.
