I recommend starting with Discourse on Metaphysics. Several decent editions around, but the recent one from OUP — translated and with detailed commentary by Gonzalo Rodriguez-Pereyra — is very good.

A very timely read. It got me thinking that the value of academic labour isn't just within teaching or expertise (although both are important) but in the smaller acts of support, ongoing pastoral care, of asking the right question, almost as an afterthought, but making a huge difference.
