It's absurd to me that some people on the left are celebrating the German election results as if they have been some profound victory over the right. The conservative party won, and the AfD nearly doubled their share of the vote from 2021. Germany is moving in step with the rest of the global right

Assuming Bluesky becomes a legitimate competitor to Twitter and not just a fad, and academics continue to migrate, I think there's a very interesting conversation to be had about the principles of "brain drain" being applied to social media.

This is something that can't be understated. The rise of Qanon in places like Germany and Japan is, in no small part, heavily influenced by the rise of the conspiratorial right in the US. Putting people like this in positions of power not only reinforces Qanon in the US, but globally as well.
Want to point out something with Kash Patel regarding QAnon:
Patel not only promoted QAnon, he even *helped create* a trend specifically in the QAnon community — a trend he subsequently himself promoted & bragged about.

I'm curious how advertisers are going to interact with bluesky. On the one hand, the smaller user pool is immediately less appealing to anyone wanting to advertise at a large scale. On the other, it's probably a safer place to advertise in terms of what content your ad will be linked to.
