Given the state of things, I have to take joy from the little things. Therefore, I'm happy to see that my favorite 007 score (and my favorite Bond film) is being released in an expanded form.

To reinforce Ben's point about Preminger: Keir Dullea has often been quoted as saying that working with Stanley Kubrick was easy compared to "that guy I had on my last picture." He was filming "Bunny Lake Is Missing" when he was cast.

I (of course) first knew of Preminger as the 2nd Mr. Freeze on the 60s Batman TV show. Someday TCM should have a “THEY WERE BATMAN’s FOES” daytime theme (Anne Baxter, Glynis Johns, Shelley Winters, Walter Slezak, Van Johnson, Cliff Robertson, and Vincent Price (to name just a few).

Otto Preminger (1905 – 1986) is noted for directing films like Whirlpool (1950), Where The Sidewalk Ends (1950), Angel Face (1951), Carmen Jones (1954), and Anatomy of a Murder (1959) - among others - films that often dealt with taboo subjects like rape and drug use.

Agreed. There is a "dream like" quality to her performance. She's there. but not there. Some have said that this may have been due to things happening in Tierney's personal life at the time of production.

IIRC, there was also a version in the mid-1950s. Even before the 1944 film, there was a stage production of #Laura.

#Laura ’s theme tune was written by David Raksin (Aug 1912 – Aug 2004). He also scored Force of Evil (1948), Whirlpool (1950) , The Bad and The Beautiful (1953) and The Big Combo (1955) etc. After the film’s release, Johnny Mercer wrote lyrics for the tune, and the rest is history.

Yeah. Only Joseph LaShelle (cinematography) won. He later worked with Billy Wilder on The Apartment (1960) and The Fortune Cookie (1966).
