The terminal is useful, too, but I haven't needed to use it as much with Mint. Things like running/installing programs or games generally have a workaround (like allowing .sh and appimages to run as programs in permission settings).

I switched to Mint back in September cause of the Win10 EoL, it hasn't been bad so far. alternativeto.net and www.protondb.com have been fairly useful for finding gaming/software stuff. You can find some programs in the Software Manager like Steam, Discord, browsers, etc.

I've been on it for about a month and a half, pretty good so far. Just don't encrypt your home folder during installation, the service it uses is apparently deprecated and it can cause issues. I think there's also other encryption services that are better. One of them is called luks, I believe?

Was it after an update? I did hear that one of the recent ones broke Win11 or something, so that would be my first guess.
