Except for the scaled primary fix (which will require a rewrite), the fixes listed for 0.5.26 will also be implemented in 0.6.x.

DXGL 0.5.25 has been released. This is a bugfix release and should be installed especially if running 0.5.20 or above.
Please note system requirements have changed, and if running a Winows version older than 10 please install the legacy version.

I just fixed a regression regarding DirectX 2/3 emulation, which was preventing Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny from running in hardware accelerated mode.
Here's a screenshot of the game running at 3840x2160 resolution.

I have resolved some merge conflicts in the 0.5.x branch of DXGL, as I plan on at least one more release. As a result, the minumim Windows 10 requirement will also apply to the next version. Users of previous Windows versions should use the legacy version moving forward.

As a heads-up, older versions of DXGL still work on modern operating systems like Windows 10 and Windows 11; they may be needed for some games as later versions currently have regressions.

In light of today's release of Visual Studio 2026, for future versions of DXGL the legacy installer will be required for all Windows versions below 10. This is due to new system requirements for the current v14 Redistributable.

I have been having server issues likely due to AI scrapers. If this happens when accessing my site the server still usually finds enough CPU cycles to host the direct downloads of DXGL at dxgl.org/download .

DXGL 0.5.24 has now been released. This is a limited release adding an experimental Windows NT 4.0 compatible build, and fixes an error rendering floating point numbers in DXGL Config on non-Unicode builds.

There will be at least one more maintanence build of DXGL 0.5.x coming up soon; this version will by request attempt to add support for Windows NT 4.0 via the MSVC 2005 build.

@bsky.app needs a mechanism to remove followers, like what Twitter has. Even toggling block doesn't seem to work here.
