Lots of people at my university publish in MDPI journals. I just don't want anything to do with them...

It's the 100s of special issues a year that gets me. Asking (often early career) researchers to be guest editors to solicit papers for the journal. It just seems dodgy to me. I don't want a bar of it.

While declining a review from an #MDPI journal, I (politely) mentioned that I do not with to publish in or review for MDPI. I asked to be removed from their reviewing register.

I feel like an asshole, but I don't want to keep declining reviews.

True, but we have to cater for live in person, live online, asynchronous online. I already pre-record short videos for computer lab sessions + run live sessions. I run interactive, AMA lectures, & update my content each week to include the latest from the news/ recently published papers.
