We are talking about ancestry not longevity as you well know
and modern genetics shows that Palestinians are the descendents of the Biblical Hebrews who remained the region and later converted to Christianity and Islam
Ashkenazi on the other hand are descendents of European converts
The idea that someone who has never stepped foot in Palestine can, simply on the basis of his religion, move there., gain immediate citizenship and be granted more rights than someone who has lived there for generations
The national rights of the Palestinian people were denied with the Nakba and have been denied ever since . That is the original sin., the cause of this entire conflict
Who has the legitimate right to that land? The family who have worked and farmed it for generations
Or the bloke from Bucharest who had never stepped foot in that land in his life before he was instantly granted citizenship and whose only connection to it was his religion ?
Yes national identity. That guy was Romanian. That was and is his national identity. Judaism is his religion . He can be both Romanian and Jewish, just as a British Jew can be British and Jewish, the former is national identity, the latter is religion
Culture? I spoke to an Israeli about 2 weeks ago. He was from Romania. He came to Israel 20 years ago
So this guy, a Romanian citizen who has no connection to this land except his religion can just move there and take over the house of a Palestinian family who have lived there for generations?
