Our body is always in motion blood vessels, lungs, intestines. Organ-on-chip applies stretch/strain to cells, influencing behavior via flow or mechanical deformation. This activates the mechanostimulatory complex, a key cellular sensor ignored in standard in vitro tests.

While looking for stem-cell-based PhD projects Joanna found her final topic #organonchip rather spontaneously. Not knowing what it was she start to read on it & was immediately captivated by the power of organ models & their promises for the future of biomedical research.
