I think I generally agree, but at the same time I do like the ending a lot. I also didn't predict the exact way it resolved (being vague for spoilers), so it was at least a little surprising for me.

Have you seen Heretic? I watched it recently and quite liked it, though it's quite different from most religious horror I've seen.

I haven't seen all of these, but Saint Maud was amazing. That ending lives rent free in my brain.

This would have been the saddest thing I've seen all day if I hadn't watched Homeward Bound earlier.
