I used something similar in our pub in the late '70s / early '80s. It was considered odd & unusual then. Evidently no one has since devised anything better to cool cask beers.

What is passing through the pipes above & into the barrels?

Vexillomaniac: Using the suffix -maniac suggests an extreme or obsessive enthusiasm (for flags), though this is not an official or widely used term in the same way vexillologist or vexillophile are. So... vexillomania is actually a mental illness, which normal people would be cruel to criticize? 🤔

Value what you still have. If the BBC is destroyed, you will be left with only "propaganda retailers".

Always enjoyed the ingenuity of the various styles of self-supporting fences I saw around CO. Easier/safer than dynamiting post-holes ;-)

Might wonder how long it could take urban planners to accept that the most popular places to live & visit don't look like that city skyline?

If "mobility" in this context means "descent into ruin", it probably is.

Didn't the Provisional Authority in Iraq fail to interest "Big Oil" in the allegedly legally dubious long-term contracts they were offering?

I've yet to hear a convincing explanation why it makes sense to move goods in relatively small amounts by road, when very much more could be moved on a train. Contrast with the way the most freight moves. Large ships, travelling slowly. Not many small boats carrying small amounts.

In 2024, arriving in Cranston (RI), it took months to be accepted by a Primary Care doctor. An immigrant from Canada. They retired shortly after. More months passed until we were accepted by a new PCP. Another immigrant; from the West Indies. I'm sure similar stories could be heard across the US.

Suggests that legal means to easily & quickly dispose of rubbish are inadequate. If that was partly an attempt to save money on legal disposal, or make the disposer pay, it failed.

The more air-time Reform are given, the greater the veneer of "seriousness" they acquire. IMO relentless ridicule is probably an appropriate counter. Voters are unlikely to want to seem ridiculous by association.

Very atmospheric.

Which is actually an admission that most new vehicles are too expensive (& too big, heavy, powerful, thirsty & gadget-infested), & that most people can't afford them.

Enterprising & imaginative; I hope it worked for them.

Isn't the modern ideal to move on (& up) before the consequences of your ignorance & ineptitude fully manifest?

It may be newer than it looks, and look a bit "Disney", but it's still lovely & in a lovely setting.

Yes. Much. The first tech company to make a really useful Quantum computer will be able to buy the rest.

Similarly, any discussions about "messaging" indicate an eagerness to tell you what you would most like to hear.

I've heard that in some Southern (US) states, "He needed killing" has been considered a reasonable defense.
