Pondering Al for your book cover?
You may want to think again.
• Readers will see an Al cover and think you've also taken Al shortcuts in the writing
• Al images aren't particularly realistic-look at fingers, limbs, shadows, etc.
• There's more to cover design than a picture, a title, and the author's name
• Al has been trained on the artwork of humans, and for the most part, those creatives were not compensated
• The person who would normally get paid for this job is losing out on income
• Al images cannot be copyrighted
• Al requires a tremendous amount of energy and contributes to global warming

If you go back to the 1950s, there were earnest debates around the world re: whether growing public funding of universities was a Good Thing because government might one day try to dictate what univesities could teach.

By the 90s this was considered laughable.

No one is laughing now.
