I just encountered this intriguing Little-Shop-of-Horrorsesque scene on a walk. Somehow his tree sucked in a pipe. Are we all next?

I just encountered this intriguing Little-Shop-of-Horrorsesque scene on a walk. Somehow his tree sucked in a pipe. Are we all next?
Our cat Ravenpaw had surgery today. For the next two weeks he’ll be wearing this little sweater and the cone and staying in our bedroom isolated from our other cats. He has a tendency to fall over sideways at random moments—but he purrs loudly when we pet him. It’s pathetic but also oddly adorable.

I’m not usually one to post cat pictures but I caught two of my feline companions, Merlin and Juno, cuddling adorably and couldn’t resist. Please forgive me.

It's tempting to plug my ears, to pretend that everything is OK and nothing has really changed in any profound or unalterable way. But it's already even worse than I imagined. We can't give in to despondency or resignation. Resistance is NOT futile. You must go on. I can't go on. I'll go on.
