There’s some good in today. I serve on the council at my kiddos school and tonight we had enough fundraiser funds to give each teacher cash to buy needed teaching materials. Additionally, paid for the crosswalk guards to continue their important work (funding cut).

Inside the life of an EA:
Yesterday, I didn’t get a call to sub. “My class” that lost their JP EA (me) in Dec. were scheduled to go to the ice rink. So, I packed up my cleats and went skating with my kids. Held hands with my kiddo I was paired with, who had never been skating.
We deserve more.

Inside the life of an EA:

For the record, I arrive at my school about 8am (usually before - breakfast program) and I’m often there well after 4pm.
I get paid for six.
What’s the point of making these statements like there isn’t a trail proving how many hours were inside AB schools?
How about pay for ALL of our work?

I was asked why the UCP are referring to EAs as “part-time” when they work the full school year & 35 hrs/week.
My response? Because they’re a-holes.
Crude, yes. But they’re trying to make vastly underpaid Albertans struggling to make ends meet the enemy.
And they just gave themselves a raise.😡
