Attrition can be subverted via maneuvers by superior forces. Saddam tried to dig in and force attrition in ‘91 and the coalition responded by outmaneuvering him. The GAR has the capacity to do this, but it would require hard conversations about Jedi relinquishing strategic command to real officers.

The CIS was a sort of gimmicky military in some ways, but if they over-indexed on their most effective platforms (B-2’s, Droidekas, dwarf spider droids and droid gunships) the gimmicks becomes very scary very fast.

The Jedi are straight up not good generals, but the GAR was very, very good. The GARN kinda sucked, was super undergunned and had starfighter inferiority if Jedi weren’t flying in that battle but clones are excellent troops with literally unlimited morale.

Dooku was a capable war leader and schemer in his own right. I think the Clone Wars very well could end in a stalemate if he didn’t kneecap the CIS on purpose (no stupid superweapons, no over reliance on B1’s). The CIS didn’t have a genuine constituency, but a droid army makes up for a lot.

My soul is torn out of my chest. I’ve intellectually known the fact that people I care about are probably dead but with no way to contact them and no info on if some other org was supplying them their meds I was able to not let it sink in. The dam may be bursting. Fuck these fucking monsters.

There’s a reason basically every kakistocracy in history goes into a hyper inflationary spiral. The money printer is THE classic macroeconomic idiot trap, they get a taste of free money and they never break free of it. Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Hungary, the trend is always the same.

I think Newsom would rather like a presidency whose legal accountability has been eroded. I think he’d be very happy dealing out that powerful position to rich interests, just like how he’s about to let SB79 expire on behalf of rich NIMBYs.

Eh, I’m skeptical that any institution as deeply politicized AND broke as the Russian military would be capable of such drastic overhauls and reforms in peacetime. The story of any army where playing politics is necessary absent quantitative trend assessment is gonna be half measures.
